Section 30: Paul. Full of cunning and guile

This is a shameless twisting of what Paul said and meant. The full context reads as thus “Yet, crafty fellow that I am, I caught you by trickery! Did I exploit you through any of the men I sent to you? I urged Titus to go to you and I sent our brother with him. Titus did not exploit you, did he? Did we not walk in the same footsteps by the same Spirit?” So we see that Paul is being ironic in his first comment and then goes on to challenge his own comment. Deedat is being dishonest as he has been with other quotes and as other examples, the full context actually promotes the opposite behaviour to that which Deedat is trying to put forward as the Bible’s position. Time after time the Bible promotes honesty as we find in another passage from Paul from the same letter where he says “Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God. (2 Corinthians 4:2).” It is very ironic that Deedat acts with dishonesty when he accuses Paul of being dishonest.
